Jean Grae - P.S.

This dedication is from the criminally slept on This Week album by rap phenom Jean Grae. Jean takes time out to speak those who were done wrong by her in her immaturity and selfishness. What made this special to me is that she lays out her heart and truly tries to connect with those she has wronged. The third verse is one of my all time favorites ever because she speaks to the greatest victim of mistreatment. With any song the track has to knock and this one does not dissappoint strings, guitar, funky drums. A+ material. For those who have not heard this album cop it you will not be upset and those that have it break out and think of what Nicki could have done. 1.

This is a prime example of why the East has faultered. Those who were selling only wanted to deal with projects that could garner big sales. No Limit had it's Kane & Abel. CM shuffled around it's roster to come up with any combination of rapper to field a group for 1 album. Rap-A-Lot carried a lot artists, as well as 40's set. Now, seeing Weezy grab somebody like Nikki and Cory Gunz to give them a shot is for the betterment of the game. Kweli tried to push JG out there under his BlackSmith imprint, but it was overlooked because not much of the material was new. I say all that to say Jean is a beast, with more substance than Nikki, and I would like to see her get a big-time look... I don't see it happening though.
