I missed this weeks Tuesday two step so here is the selections of the week. These triple threats started writing and producing their own music on the second album this is one of the records they co-produced. Hakim the most charismatic of the brothers carved out a nice niche for himself in the late 90's when we all thought they fell off. My favorite work of his was done with an artist by the name of Rachid. This melancholy brother was an instant fave not because we share the same name but because he was someone I didn't see coming. What made it even better was when I read the liner notes like all heads do, and found that Hakim was heavily involved in the project.

I agree, I agree. I thought Hak's production on the 2nd joint was exceptional, and wondered how the demise of the group came about.
Shish kabobs, scrambled eggs and tuna - my man!!! Funny how you've changed... That was my joint!
Yeah Wood I was surprised that they had actually dropped the label as Jay said instead of vice versa. I was also impressed to see all the credits that the Boys had to their name. From Akon to NKOTB the brothers been busy.
The Boys, now known as the Suns, have been very busy since the 90s. Hakim and Bilal write and produce music in West Africa. Tajh (aka Purple Crown) is very busy producing, writing, and recording music in Atlanta, Georgia. Bilal has also done quite a bit of writing, producing, and recording If you haven't checked out their new music, here are a couple of links.

Their music is positive, mature, and innovative. Their lyrics have meaning and purpose. I highly recommend their music.
